WORK BEGINS of THE VIRDEE SCHOOL

Peter Virdee Foundation : We are pleased to announce a new partnership with the charity Children in Crisis, in which we are funding the construction of a new school in Bibangwa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Located a three-hour walk from the nearest road on the eastern plateau of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the children of Bibangwa are on the verge of isolation. They do not receive any help or investment from the government or other organizations.

The current school of wattle and daub, built by a resourceful community desperate for their children to learn, has sadly been ruined by the torrential rains of the Plateau. Thanks to the support of the Peter Virdee Foundation, Children in Crisis can now partner with the parents of Bibangwa to build a new durable six-class school for their children. Virdee School will be community owned and community operated. It will be a safe and dry place where future generations of children can take the opportunity to learn.
